Terms of Use
By downloading or using Clavis, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Your license
Free: Clavis Free is provided free of charge for personal and business use.
Pro: buying Clavis Pro grants you a one-time, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use the Pro features on computers you own or control. Your license includes future updates. It is for your own use — please don't share, resell or publish your license key.
What you may not do
- Resell, sublicense or redistribute Clavis or its license keys.
- Attempt to circumvent licensing, except as permitted by law.
- Use Clavis to break the law.
Your responsibility for passwords and keys
Clavis uses real encryption. This means: if you lose your password and your recovery key, your files cannot be opened by anyone — including us. You are responsible for choosing strong passwords, for storing your recovery key safely, and for keeping your own backups of important data. We cannot recover lost passwords, recovery keys or files.
No warranty
Clavis is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. While Clavis uses established, standard cryptography, we do not warrant that it is error-free or that it will meet every requirement or threat model. Use it as one part of good security practice, not your only safeguard.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Clavis. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the software.
Updates and changes
We may update Clavis and these terms over time. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date above.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
